You will find alot of craft stuff but very limited space, so organization is key in my work space.
Picture 1 = Entry door wall
Here is an overview of my wall as I close my door for piece and quiet, which usually never happens. I have learned to scrap with my door wide open, a dog laying of the floor behind my chair and my son Christopher either crafting something next to me or on the floor with Legos.
Picture 2 = Behind my door
Here I use a old shoe holder that I picked up at a yard sale for 25 cents. I use it to store yarns and fibers. You will see cards sticking out of the bottom 2 pockets on the right. I have over 100 different scenes of yarn so rather than try to store them all I have them stored in white storage boxes marked 1 – 201 at the moment. I have taken a little cutting of each color and marked it with a number this tells me which box it is in so I can grab the box and find the yarn I need quickly. I keep the scenes that are almost gone or the ones I use a lot of in the other pockets. Below the shoe holder you will find a diaper stacker. Yes my son is 8 years old and potty trained but I keep a few extra diapers of each size on hand for when friends drop by to scrap with me. There is nothing worse than a dirty diaper to put an end to a good crop with friends.
Picture 3 = Top middle of my wall
The top self are some of my tole painting book, cross stitch books and other patterned book. The second shelf houses all my small or loose fibers that are not on a scene or spool. I have them in clear square jars or containers and organized by color or type. You will find I use a lot of clear and see through things in my room because I feel it gives me a little window to see what’s inside. As for the Star Wars Lego box, yeap it’s full another great tool for those days when you want to sit and scrap and the kids are restless. I try to keep a little something new for those rainy or extremely hot days when I just want to relax. My son love Lego’s and pokemon but I also keep on hand some little $1.00 kits that I pick up at the craft store. The third shelve houses all my buttons, flowers and feathers. Again in clear canisters for quick reference, just hold it in your hands and role until you find the one you want than dump it out. I use my bead trays to dump things in so that I can easily send it back into the jar.
Picture 4 = Bottom middle of my wall
Here I house on top of the drawers my current tole painting project and my stack of different colored foamies. Below in the drawers I keep a big chunk of my scrapbook embellishments. All my drawers are marked with a label for quick reference as to what is in the tiny drawers. Beside it is my stack of toddler and girl toys. Since I have a boy most of my world initials Legos, Pokemon, Cars, and Dinosaurs. There is no room for tea parties here…LOL…So on those special days when I friends who have toddlers or girls I let them break into my tuppers of stuffed toys or dishes and jewelry.
Image 5 = Top Corner of my room
Here my wonderful handy husband built me a ribbon holder. I am very lucky as to have one of those wonderful handy husbands who can create something from an idea I have. Here he has built me a rack with removable doweling so that I can put ribbon spools and access them quickly for my projects. I did try those boxes where you poke the ribbon through and found myself having to open them go get ribbon out that had pulled back in. I will tell you that there is a downfall to having the ribbon on the doweling it is called 2 year olds. If you build one and have toddlers in the house make sure you keep it above the hand reach. I found that the bottom two dowels I didn’t use until my son was old enough to understand the words “don’t touch”. And yes it was a lesson I learned the hard way after having to rewrap 2 rows of ribbon of which each doweling holds approximately 45 spools. I was not a happy momma that day. Next to my ribbon I have shelves that house my photo boxes and inside my photo boxes are blank envelopes. Yes all of those have envelopes of all sizes and colors. I love to make homemade cards and envelope albums so I keep lots on hand.
Image 6 = Bottom Corner of my room
Here is my sewing corner. I use the top of my sewing cabinet to store my sizzix machine and extra bottles of paint. These are easily moved when I want to pull up my sewing machine to sew. I use a self healing mat on the top of my cabinet so that I don’t scratch it up while using my sizzix machine.
Image 7 = My Closet with Drawers of Crafts
Here I house all my material, Dies, Embrodiery crafts and all other crafting items. Everything is organized by craft type. Again in clear drawers for quick looks inside.
Image 8 = My Work Table
Here you will see an overview of the most important spot in my room. This is where the juices boil while creating. Everything on this table was placed with ME in mind. Everything has been set up for me to quickly get to it so that it doesn’t hinder my creativity. Hopefully a few of my tips will help you.
Image 9 & 10 = Right top of my work table

Here I store my 8 ½” x 11” cardstock. I don’t use this much in my albums but I do use it for cards and mini albums. Next to my tall stack of drawers is a smaller stack of drawers. Here you will find all my supplies that I use on a daily basis. Like small ink pads for edging paper or inking small stamps, chalks, stamp cleaner pads and remote controls to lights and music. Above the smaller drawers is where I store my cutters. I use an organizer that I picked up at a yard sale for 10 cents. These can be found pretty easily at the good will stores. I use 1 for my cutters, 1 for my smaller projects and 1 on my movable project unit (more to come about this). Again I keep extra cutters for when friends stop by to crop.
Image 11 & 12 = Center of my work table

This is the main hub. I use Making Memories carousels to keep all my supplies organized. I have 1 for my pens and scrapbook tools and the other for my wire and tole painting tools. In the center I keep my adhesives and brayer. To the left I keep my light box and heat embossing gun and of course you can’t forget the chocolate. I always have a little chocolate to help when I get that block…LOL.. I keep the top of the center smaller drawers clear for my movable current project
box.
Image 13 & 14 = My movable currant project items

Here is my tip for those of you with limited or almost no space to create. Set yourself up movable storage for your current projects. Here I show you how I use 2 movable items. The first is a rolling 3 self unit. I use the top of it to house my current paper choices that I am working on. Again a cheap plastic organizer allows paper to stand up so I can see it at a glance. The shelves below hold items I am using like ink pads, stamps, embellishments. These are housed in cardboard box bottoms. I use the bottoms that come with my dog food. They fit perfectly in the selves and can stack on top of each other so that everything lays flat and can be easily seen when you lift on off of the other. For things that won’t lay flat I put the box on top of my shelf in front of me. Again this allows me to see what I am working with. Here you can see I have been working on Halloween albums, pages and cards. You can check out some of my creations in my etsy shop.
Image 15 & 16 = Left side of my table.

Here I use 12 x 12 drawers to keep some of my common papers on my desk. Also I have a paper fetish so I have tons of paper. I know I really need to get in a 12 step program for paper but I just can’t help myself..LOL.. On top of the 12 x 12 drawers is more paper. But these are scraps. I used large mailing envelopes: I sealed them and then cut them in ½ down the middle long ways. This made great ½ envelopes for my scraps. I have marked on the outside edge the color. This way when I am making a quick thank you or birthday card I can use those scraps and nothing goes to waist.

Image 17, 18 & 19 = Below my work table

Here I have more storage for items that I don’t use as often. I store stamp sets, stickers, mulberry paper and more scraps of cardstock. I also store my decorative scissors and paper punches. I have also given my son a drawer to keep his art supplies. This allows him to feel he has a space to create also. I use the paper organizer to help keep my cardstock paper sorted by color.
Image 20 = Bottom corner of my work table
Here I store my embroidery threads. Which I use when I do my embroidery, but I also use it in my scrapbooks. I also store zyron machine and my newly inquired picture printer which I really need to hook up.

Here I have more storage. I have more 12” x 12” drawers full of paper. I have my ink large ink pads, brads, eyelets and stamp sets in drawers. Along with a drawer for photos to put on Layouts. I keep lots of magazines handy for quick inspiration. And yes you are seeing right. My handy little husband built me a floor to ceiling paint bottle holder. It fits perfectly in the small space behind my door. And yes they are organized in alphabetical order…LOL.

Image 23 = Tip
I have a drawer for my pictures that I need to scrap. When I am working on my pictures or pictures for a client I use a coupon organizer. It helps me separate the pictures by page until I am ready to scrap them. It also keeps them save from any bent corners. I got my coupon organizers for $1.00 at Target and CVS pharmacy.
Image 24 = Tip
Projects ready to go to crops. I like to crop with friends but my room is to small to scrap. I keep page kits ready to go. I use page protectors with tiedowns. I put pictures, paper, and embellishments in an envelope. When I got to crop with friends I grab 4 or 6 to take with me. Even if I don’t have every item I want to put on the page I can crop and mat pictures and arrange it the way I want so all I have to do is finishing touches when I get home. I have many sizes some hold 12” x 12” paper and some hold cards. I don’t like tiny cards in large holders so it allows me to take smaller projects if I don’t have a lot of space or time. It is great for those crops where you can only stay for an hour. At least you have a project to work on while chatting with friends. I found most of mine at the Dollar store and Target.
Image 25 = Tips
For projects that you have on hold and need to get to the LSS to match paper or embellishments. Put the project in a zip lock bag. They make gallon size bags that will fit 12” x 12 “ paper. I use a large paper clip and a bungy cord to hand my projects right near the door so they are easily accessible when I need to leave. I the entire project in the bag with me to ensure I get what I need.
This is a tour of my work space along with some tips. I hope they help to inspire you to get organized. I would love to hear if you used any of my tips or if you have any tips of your own. Please share them with us.
